Bennington Green Applaud UK Government's New Degree Apprenticeship

July 15, 2015 - PRLog -- SCHOOL leavers wishing to become chartered surveyors now have a new route into the profession through a degree apprenticeship, say property and construction consultancy, Bennington Green.

Chartered surveying is one of nine degree apprenticeships that the Government has announced in addition to four that are already available.  The previous selection includes construction, but the recent subjects are more engineering focused.

The Government believe that degree apprenticeships will combine aspects of higher and vocational education, in much the same way as existing sandwich course placements do.

Nigel Soloman, Managing Director of Bennington Green said: “We believe that combining a full degree with the real practical skills gained through on-the-job training, whilst at the same time providing the financial security of an income can, only be beneficial.

"These degree apprenticeships will bring the business world and the world of education closer together to enable us to train and build the high-level technical skills needed for the jobs of the future. At Bennington Green we are not only a business but also work closely with the education sector and can only see this as a positive move.  I personally think that more businesses and universities should start to offer these new degrees.

“We have apprentices working in our Bournemouth and London offices and feel that this new initiative will help to alleviate the shortage of skilled labour particularly found at the moment in the construction industry.”

As one of the most recognised consultancy firms in Construction, Property and Civil Engineering in the South, Bennington Green offer an extensive range of services from all their offices.
