SAVAGE, Minn. - July 15, 2015 - PRLog -- Once a main attraction at the Minnesota State Fair and outdoor festivals such as Moondance Jam, the Ted Nugent band has gone quiet this Summer. However, the songs that made the band famous will still be performed and sung by the original and current lead singer, Derek St Holmes, on  Friday August 21st at Neisen's Event Center in Savage, MN.  The band Headliner who has backed current and former performers from Boston, Santana, Lynyrd Skynyrd and more willl back St. Holmes for this one-night only performance. Advance tickets range in price from $10-$35 at www.Eventbrite.com.

Derek St. Holmes provided the vocals that launched the Motor City Madman, otherwise known as Ted Nugent. St. Holmes is the original rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist for Nugent. Those are St. Holmes' prominent vocals on "Stranglehold" and "Hey Baby" — two of the biggest hits for guitar-master Nugent. "Hey Baby" showed off St. Holmes' songwriting and arranging skills.  The band Headliner will back St. Holmes as they perform the Nugent classics plus a few other classic songs including some songs off St. Holmes solo release.

"Unlike shows we do with Ted, (Nugent) there will be less politics, chuckled St. Holmes. "You can be on any side of the aisle to enjoy what we do at this show".  What St Holmes has done is become of the most distinguishible yet unheralded voices in Rock and Roll. St Holmes will perform not only the Nugent classics but some other of his original material that you wouldn't normally hear while he was sharing the stage with Nugent.

Along with his solo performance in Savage, MN on Friday August 21st, St Holmes is also reuniting with Aerosmith's Brad Whitford. The two combined for a 1981 album "Whitfield/St Holmes".  The two plan on a tour beginning in November after Aerosmith wraps up its Blue Army tour

St Holmes has come to Minnesota at least once a year for the past six years and is looking forward to a return visit in August. "I like it better when it isn't snowing. I was here (MN) the night the Dome collapsed (December 10, 2009). I might have to try and get out on that Lake (Minnetonka) since it isn't frozen this time.  I have some great friends in Minnesota and we have fun." said St. Holmes.
