July 14, 2015 - PRLog -- For this reason, this protein has attracted much interest as a marker of proliferation in an array of human cancers, including breast malignancies. Ki-67 is most frequently used for immunohistochemistry on tumor tissue sections to evaluate the tumor proliferation index. While some studies have found it to be a viable prognostic factor for therapeutic considerations, additional technical and interpretative standardization may be required to broaden its application.
