Mom Cycling Tampa to New York City for Children’s Cancer

Tampa, FL – “Fear Is Horseplay, so follow me this way.  Into the darkness we go, you cannot stop me NO.” Kelly Murphy, Founder of Fit & Fearless Living and author of Fear Is Horseplay, a children’s book written in memory of Alex Lipstein, will embark on a bold cycling journey from Tampa to New York City.  All proceeds will benefit Children’s Cancer Center.

Kelly will cycle approx 100 miles/day for nearly 1,300 miles with a purposeful mission to profoundly influence our nation’s fight to feel right and live healthy. Her goal to raise $30,000 will benefit children and families that have been emotionally and financially devastated by cancer diagnosis.  Her journey begins on August 9, 2015 from the neighborhood where Alex, her friend’s son, resided when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Mother’s Day weekend in 2006.

“My personal struggle with balancing career and kids, divorce, financial ruin, and addiction while experiencing the devastating loss of Alex’s life to medulla blastoma, is the driving force behind Project Fear Is Horseplay," says Kelly. “ I am cycling to keep the memory of Alex alive with a bold vision to tackle the health crisis of our nation one story at a time.”

“My faithful mission to transform a 'stuck in suck' mentality and inspire the desire for healthy and prosperous living is at the core of this personal feat.  I want to encourage people to live like they were dying.  Life is fast,” says Kelly.
