Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) Applauds Historic Iran Nuclear Agreement

Conor Boylan, PDA Executive Director said, "We join with the American people strongly supporting diplomacy and opposing war. Therefore, PDA on behalf of our 103,847 members welcomes the historic Iran nuclear weapons control agreement announced today.

WASHINGTON - July 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Conor Boylan, PDA Executive Director said, "This week, PDA activists will deliver several hundred letters, make hundreds of phone calls, and otherwise communicate with members of Congress urging them to approve the historic agreement reached by the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia, China, and Iran (5+1) to halt Iran’s nuclear weapons program in exchange for easing economic sanctions imposed on Iran. Because it will not let Iran, ‘seek, develop, or acquire any nuclear weapons', this 5+1 Agreement will keep the United States, the Middle East, and the world safer. This while avoiding another costly, self-defeating, and destabilizing war of choice."

Boylan added, " PDA is working with a large coalition to prevent War against Iran: http://www.stopwarwithiran.com/?source=PDA and we are proud to stand with activists and the Congressional Progressive Caucus on this critical matter. Unfortunately, some ideologues in Congress and elsewhere seek to kill the agreement. This is unwise and reckless, because the accord as announced achieves our national security objectives without resorting to armed conflict. Also because we cannot risk another disastrous Middle East war. PDA supporters and allies will hold any and all Members of Congress--House or Senate, Democrat or Republican--accountable should he or she vote to kill this agreement."

Progressive Democrats of America http://www.PDAmerica.org is a grassroots Political Action Committee, founded in 2004 to transform the Democratic Party and our country. PDA seeks to build a party and government controlled by citizens, not corporate elites--with policies that serve the broad public interest, not just private interests. PDA organizes inside the Democratic Party, and outside in movements for peace and justice.

PDA's inside/outside strategy is guided by the understanding that a lasting progressive majority will require a revitalized Democratic Party built on firm progressive principles. PDA strives to rebuild the Democratic Party from the bottom up-from every congressional district to statewide party structures to the corridors of power in Washington.
