"My God and Government" Blog Debuts

TOOELE, Utah - July 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Tom Sheppard, former US Marine, Mormon Missionary and the author of numerous business books and articles announced Monday that he has started a new blog called, My God and Government (http://www.mygodandgovernment.blogspot.com).  His aim is to engage those intent on waging religious war against Chrisitianity.

In spite of Constitutional guarantees against government interference with religion, government is increasingly dictating issues of conscience.  The recent decision on same-sex marriage by the US Supreme Court (SCOTUS) opened a wide door for curbing the exercise of religion in America.

His posts will firmly grasp those two live rail items that should never be discussed at  the office or family reunions, religion and politics.

His first post, released this past Monday (July 13), will provide the context of his life experience which shapes his approach to these issues and his views.  You can expect additional posts within the week.  The initial post will remain available on the site as a separate page so as readers subscribe, they can understand the context of his views.

OPPOSING VIEWS ARE WELCOME

He is open to both dissenting and assenting comments from readers and hopes his views will result in a lively dialog.  However, he insists that CIVIL discourse is the watchword for comments.

"Profanity, vulgarity, and personal attacks are the hallmarks of poor vocabulary, lack of imagination, and insecurity in your position, respectively.  Comments will have these elements deleted and repeat offenders may find their comments blocked entirely."

DISAGREE WITHOUT BEING DISAGREEABLE

When asked if he was concerned that speaking out on such controversial topics would adversely affect  his business, Sheppard appeared unconcerned.  "If people are going to avoid doing business with me because they don't like my political or religious views, that is their problem.  I cannot erase bigotry, I can only confront it.  I do business everyday with people whose views on many items are radically different than mine.  I still like them, even if I disagree with them.  And I work hard to make sure that if we find ourselves in disagreement on something, I don't let our conversation become disagreeable."

PAST AS PROLOGUE

Sheppard positions himself as a peaceful warrior, blending his experience as a Mormon Missionary and US Marine, with his work and life experience to use his articles as a tool to combat the escalating war on Christianity.  Whether his opponents are Jihadis, LGBT extremists, progressives, liberals, sociiasts, athieists or just plain old complacent Christians and conservatives, Sheppard tells it like it is in a battle plan that would do the Marines proud.

Sheppard's experiences living for two years in a third-world country where democratic rule was emerging after flirtations with Socialism and a period of military rule give him a perspective on life in the US that many people lack.

He also draws on his experience as a US Marine and an entrepreneur, in addition to years in the upper ranks of a Fortune 500 company, and a boyhood job sweeping floors.  His employment experience goes both wide and deep.

A dedicated family man, married to the same woman for more than 34 years and having raised five children to adulthood, his experiences are not those of many Americans.  For Sheppard, religion is not a one-day per week matter.  Rather it is about lifetime commitment to strive to be better.

With interests that range from science and math to warfare, history, psychology, and human relations and published works that range from real estate investing to strategic plannning, personal success, and into science fiction and fantasy, his mind is able to link seemingly unrelated data and bring them to bear on the issues of today.

There is little doubt that whether or not you agree with Mr. Sheppard, you will likely find his writing will be thought provoking at the least, outrageous at the worst.  Like his work experience, readers will find his articles cover both a wide breadth and go very deep.
