MELBOURNE, Australia - July 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Being guided by an international team of Yoga pioneers (Leigh Blashki, Michael Di Manicor, Eve Gryzbowski, Robin Rothenberg & Dr Craig Hassed), the soon-to-be-launched YogaMate platform (website and smartphone apps) will help lift Yoga's profile as a scientifically credible integrative medicine.  YogaMate will provide a platform that focuses on expanding understanding around the depth and breadth of yoga, in particular, its health benefits and therapeutic application. ‘My aim isn’t about helping Yogi’s fit into a smaller size of jeans, or to increase their flexibility, per se. Sure, Yoga can do this, and there are plenty of businesses focusing on this’, Ann Marie states.  ‘But really, I think many of them are missing the point.  Yoga can be an incredibly powerful part of integrative medicine.  It’s my aspiration to help lift yoga’s credibility by expanding the community’s understanding around Yoga’s scientifically backed power to heal mind, body and spirit’.

One of the ways the resource will do this, is by highlighting Yoga ‘Health Benefits’ and sample of how a Therapist might address a client's individual needs (i.e., Yoga for Asthma, Yoga for Breast Cancer, Yoga for Depression).  The platform will feature areas of health and well-being that have had their efficacy clinically proven. These Health Benefit pages will feature sample plans created by Yoga Therapist and PhD’s, experts in their particular fields.  Their information will be supplied in tandem with scientific journals showcasing Yoga’s efficacy for said Health Benefit and tying this together, YogaMate will also provide a free directory that assists the public in finding and connecting with local teachers and therapists who have specialized in niche therapeutic areas.

In developing the site, YogaMate is seeking to feature Yogic industry experts who will represent their specialty as the industry leader for their niche.  The site will feature health benefits in six categories (http://yogamate.org/seeking-industry-leaders-to-feature-o...):

·         General Health and Well-being (i.e., Yoga for Stress Relief, Yoga for Insomnia)

·         Pain, Injury & Trauma (i.e., Yoga for Stroke, Yoga for Paralysis, Yoga for Sciatica)

·         Chronic & Autoimmune diseases (i.e., Yoga for MS, Yoga for Fibromyalgia)

·         Mental and Emotional Health (i.e., Yoga for Anxiety, Yoga for Depression)

·         Women’s Health (i.e., Yoga for Fertility, Yoga for Endometriosis, Pre & Post Natal)

·         Special Interest Groups (i.e., Yoga for Seniors, Yoga for Kids)

Each health benefit will have its own page featuring the industry expert, their example of a yoga practice for this health benefit, plus links to scientific journals and blogs relating to said health benefit.  Furthermore, wishing to give back, YogaMate will feature yogic charities aligned with each health benefits in addition to gifting 15% of profits to aligned charitable Yogic not-for-profits, like the IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapy).

Who is YogaMate looking to feature?
YogaMate aims to become the leading yoga resource for the delivery of information regarding Yogic integrative health and well-being and we are looking for industry experts. Featured professionals will likely be qualified as a Yoga therapist or have their PhD.  They may have decades of experience under their belt, but they keep up with new research and play an active role in the progression of their area of specialty. They are genuinely looking to raise the bar and make a difference.

What’s in it for them?
They’ll be linked to YogaMate as the featured professional in their field of study.  They’ll also receive a complimentary Professional account with featured profile on YogaMate and will have the feel good factor knowing their work is reaching a worldwide audience, inspiring untold Yoga Professionals, Health and Well-being professionals and broader communities the world over.
