Biotechnology as a Tool for Social Development

were the opening words of the speech of Dr. Satish Kumar, Chief Scientist and Group Leader, Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, who visited Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology,( which is situated at 70 mile stone on Delhi-Panipat Highway and is  affiliated to the Kurukshetra University and approved by AICTE; Govt. of India, a name which is on top of the list these days for BEST PLACEMENTS IN DELHI NCR HARYANA, BEST ENGINEERING COLLEGES IN HARYANA),  in the capacity of a Distinguished Guest Lecturer on 21st April 2015 on the captioned topic.

The subject touched upon new avenues in the field of Bio-technology by use of which we can do away with the chemical substances and grow healthier crops. His message was focused on a healthy society which, of course is made up of human beings. So for the human health a shift from the prevalent ways of agriculture to enhance crop yields, which in a way turn the produce polluted with chemical ingredients. The use of bio fertilizers, hybrid seeds and other techniques to change the basic hereditary genes of the plants, vegetables and fruit would lead to formation of healthier societies around where people would enjoy the benefits of longevity of life.

He mentioned in his message that India is now already on a path which is adopted by many advanced countries of the world to try and implement new technologies to achieve a greater milk yield. This, he said, was possible now as the science has developed the ways to implant and replace cells in an animal to make it work as desired.

During the second half of the day Dr. Satish Kumar had an interactive session with the faculty members of the institute. He said in his address that Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology is an echoing name all through. He added that a curiosity aroused is what encouraged him to visit this far off institute. He reiterated that through this visit he is re-assured that the awards of Best Engineering College IN NORTH INDIA and Best Placement IN NORTH INDIA bestowed on this college are justified the way things are visibly happening at this campus. At the end Dr. Satish Kumar thanked the management, Shri Hariom Tayal – chairman, Shri Suresh Tayal Member Secretary, Shri Rakesh Tayal Member, Shri S K Khanna Administrator and Dr. K K Palliwal director, for the hospitality and sincere attitude of the faculty members, who were very focused and inquisitive during the sessions.
