AMD to keynote 3rd Annual Faith-Based Summit

MIRAMAR, Fla. - July 13, 2015 - PRLog -- MIRAMAR, Fla. (July 16, 2015) – Furthering the company’s legacy of supporting diversity initiatives and small businesses, AMD today announces that Beverly Kuykendall, President of Government business, will deliver the keynote address  during the 3^rd Annual Faith-Based Summit on July 16, in Southern California.   The Summit is in response to an executive order signed by President Barack Obama, establishing the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.  The Office and multiple designated Federal agencies, including the SBA, work on behalf of Americans committed to improving their communities.

Joining other business, community and non-profit leaders as part of the speaker lineup, Ms. Kuykendall’s speech, at the request of the local SBA Office, will focus on the connections between the faith-centered businesses and federal procurement initiatives, and how these, together, present the opportunity to have meaningful economic impact to local communities.

The event is part of a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration, the University of Southern California Small Business Diversity Office, the University of Southern California Cecil Murray Center for Community Engagement, The Office of Councilman Curren D. Price, Jr. and AmPac Tri-State CDC, Inc.

“Faith-based small businesses, just by the nature of who and what they represent, hold the key to the ability of local businesses to make valuable contributions to the American economy and communities,” remarked Ms. Kuykendall. “This event helps the owners of these businesses position themselves for future growth and success, which benefits us all.
