Nuvolect Releases Disruptive Security Product

It disrupts business models, it disrupts insecure practices and it disrupts technology.

ORLANDO, Fla. - July 13, 2015 - PRLog -- ORLANDO, FL – July 13, 2015 – Nuvolect has released a highly disruptive version of its CrypSafe security app. It is disruptive, meaning that it does not follow conventions of the day. It disrupts business models, it disrupts insecure practices and it disrupts technology.

People are beginning to wake up to the concept that “free has a price.  When using free apps and services, users are paying with their privacy.  These apps data-mine everything about them, their family, their co-workers, and friends, their photos, contacts, passwords, and notes. This information is sold to governments and commercial entities where it is saved "in the Internet cloud" and exploited. It's worse, daily we read about massive Internet security breaches.

$50B+ in business markets are disrupted by denying Android, the apps and services, access to private information. CrypSafe users encrypt their private information then purge it from their smartphones and cloud, denying access to all but themselves.

Common insecure practices are disrupted by interrupting conventional data flows. In common practice, users approve permissions that allow apps access to their contacts, their photos, everything on a smartphone and by extension, the cloud. In common practice, smartphones use the cloud for backup, for sharing, and for syncing all their devices. All this information sits in the nebulous cloud.  It is nebulous in that a user rarely knows where their private data is or who has access to it, backdoors, etc. Every day in the news there are stories about another security breach.

The revolutionary design never puts information on the Internet, or in the cloud. CrypSafe users know where their private information is stored, they can see and hold the smartphones and tablets that keep their information. A companion device on the local network serves as a mirror and backup.  As contacts, notes and passwords are updated, they are securely mirrored to a companion device. With this design, a secure backup of private information is maintained without using the Internet or cloud.

A second technical disruption is the embedded web server. The convention of the day is to run web apps in the nebulous cloud, but the Nuvolect development team took an entirely different approach. In recent years, smartphones have become very fast and powerful computers.  Leveraging this capability, CrypSafe serves a web app that is very similar to the look and feel of common cloud-based contact managers. It has the same workflow. The web app runs in a browser from your PC, Mac, TV or any browser on your home network. The web app is being served from the smartphone in your pocket or purse. Everything is right there, names, emails, phone number, notes, and even passwords.

CrypSafe is available for free in Google Play. There is a small one-time fee to use premium features. More information is on the company website,
