Oktoberfest Tampa 2015 announces Tampa International Airport as Official VIP Sponsor

Tampa, FL -- Oktoberfest Tampa, which will celebrate its 6th annual event this fall at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, is announcing Tampa International Airport as their official VIP sponsor for the event.

Tampa International Airport announced late last year that Lufthansa will begin five-day-a-week non-stop air service between Frankfurt and Tampa beginning Sept. 25, 2015. Many Oktoberfest Tampa fans can be found wearing their traditional lederhosen or dirndl costumes that they purchased in Germany, and the event will also have a German DJ for the first time ever.

The new partnership reflects the festival's’ commitment to growth on both the national and international stage and reminds fans of the fantastic international travel opportunities that Tampa International Airport has to offer.

“We’re pleased to support Oktoberfest Tampa, its celebration of German culture in the Tampa Bay area, and the celebration of our nonstop Lufthansa flights to Frankfurt beginning on Sept. 25,” Tampa International Airport Vice President of Marketing Chris Minner said. “With this new nonstop flight, we expect the area's strong business and tourism ties with Germany to grow even stronger in coming years.”

The Tampa International Airport is also in the process of a $1 Billion dollar renovation process that promises to upgrade the airport inside and out by 2017.

With large sports and entertainment attractions, and enhanced transportation efforts, Tampa is quickly being recognized as a destination-city for Florida travelers.
