Wardrobe & Armoire: the new UK webstore for stylish storage furniture

Not only are all the answers to our most curious, peculiar questions found on the internet, traditional commerce has also gone online big time and expanded it’s reach globally.

This is the case of Wardrobe & Armoire, a new online store targeting the UK market that specializes in storage furniture. Behind this project is a young Portuguese man named Francisco. He used to work in the hospitality industry but lately has been focused on his online startup.

“There is definitely an inherent glamour and fun in working in a 5 star hotel reception, but I had wanted to start an online business for some time. I see the internet as a place of opportunities.” He says. Francisco wanted to make his business smooth and simple and he chose the UK as the country of sale. “Although I live and work in Portugal, I decided to go for the UK market. It is a much larger market compared to Portugal, people enjoy a higher purchasing power and are well accustomed to buying online” – he explained.

Francisco’s store sells wardrobes, bookcases, shoe cupboards and other items for the home. It’s been live for a month or so but, as he says, “The work is never done, I’ll continue to work at it to make it better”. He doesn’t exclude the possibility of reconciling his online business with a career in hospitality but “Right now, Wardrobe & Armoire is the focus”, he stated.

“In hospitality, you gain social skills that can later help you in your personal business. And when you start a business you learn skills that will last a lifetime.”

As for the future, he says he might launch new web stores in different niches, applying what he has learned so far. But, as he says “Wardrobe & Armoire is the priority. I want to make it a success first and I'll see what I do next”.
