PRLog -- (Cape Cod, MA)—(July 2, 2015): The Cape Cod Writers Center is delighted to announce its Second Annual Writers Contest in four categories, with a prize package in each category totaling up to $425. The prize package includes a $200 cash prize AND one conference session AND a critique of the winning entry by an agent or editor. The contest opens on July 1, 2015, and closes on September 1, 2015. Winners will be announced on December 1.
Categories are Fiction, Non-fiction, Middle Grade/YA, and Poetry. Submissions and payments are entirely electronic. The entry fee in all categories is $20 USD. Fees are submitted via PayPal ONLY (no payment by cash or check) and all submissions are done via Submittable ONLY (no emailed, mailed, or dropped off submissions)
. Only works previously unpublished in any format can be submitted (work posted on web sites or blogs consists of "electronic publishing"). Prose entries can be up to 10 pages in Standard Manuscript Format in Times New Roman 12 pt. type. Poetry entries can be 3 poems, up to 10 pages total, double-spaced, in Times New Roman 12 pt. type. Each piece can only be entered once, but the same author can enter different pieces in each category, each as a separate entry with a separate payment. Cover letter should include title, author name, pen name (if applicable), category, and author’s complete contact information. Please note on the cover letter if the PayPal address differs from the author’s contact email. Place ONLY the title of the manuscript on each header page. Do not include any other identifying information on the manuscript itself, and do not put a title page on the manuscript. Questions should be emailed to contest@capecodwritingcenter.org.
