Iconic Entrepreneur and Philanthropist Raj Vattikuti to Headline Growth Strategy Workshop

Evening to provide rare opportunity for all levels of entrepreneurs

DETROIT - July 9, 2015 - PRLog -- TiE Detroit, the Detroit chapter of the global non-profit organization for entrepreneurs, will host the “Interactive Growth Strategy Workshop with Raj Vattikuti” 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thur., July 23 at the offices of the Engineering Society of Detroit (20700 Civic Center Drive, Suite 450) in Southfield.  The event will begin with networking, appetizers and introductions.

A fireside chat with Vattikuti, a philanthropist, entrepreneur and founding charter member of TiE Detroit, will begin at 6:30 p.m.  During the session, which will be hosted by Ford Credit’s Global Project Manager Anu Gopalakrishnan, Vattikuti will discuss how to move a company’s top line forward and redefine and expand the addressable market, as well as the proper structure, resources and people needed to take a company to the next level.

An entrepreneur and philanthropist, Vattikuti established Covansys Inc. in 1985.  The company was listed on NASDAQ in 1997 and sold to Computer Sciences Corporation in 2007 for $1.3 billion.  He also founded the Vattikuti Foundation, a nonprofit supporting cancer research and treatments at Henry Ford and Beaumont Hospitals, in 1997; Synova, a technology enterprise offering software services globally, in 1998 and Altimetrik, which focuses on business innovation, user experience, mobile payment and more, in 2013.

Vattikuti received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy, India; master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Wayne State University and an honorary doctorate in business administration from Bryant College.  In addition, he is the recipient of Dykema Gossett’s 2001 Lifetime Achievement Award and 2007 Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship.
