NBIA Creates New Membership Category to Strengthen Partnerships with Statewide and International Associations

California Business Incubation Alliance Joins NBIA’s State Association Partner Network Offered by the National Business Incubation Association
ORLANDO, Fla. - July 9, 2015 - PRLog -- Organizations that are statewide or international associations that serve business incubators and accelerators, now have a dedicated membership category from the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA). An international non-profit organization and global advocate for stakeholders within entrepreneur-driven economic ecosystems, NBIA today announced the availability of the association partner membership. NBIA also welcomes the California Business Incubation Alliance (CBIA) as its newest state association member.

CBIA brings together incubator and accelerator professionals for quarterly meetings, as well as virtual settings in between. Working across all industry sectors, the CBIA convenes best practice meetings on the issues that confront managers of incubators and accelerators on a daily basis. From the most established incubators to the most recent accelerators, peers are invited to share challenges, approaches and insights in a closed setting. A diverse set of members, approaching innovation in industries as wide-ranging as food, biotechnology, software, electronics and transportation, gains momentum from decades of collective experience among those convened in each dialogue.

"The incubation landscape has changed dramatically over the last decade, and our services for the professionals running incubators and accelerators have to evolve to meet the changing needs of the industry," states Matt Gardner, CEO of the California Business Incubation Alliance. “This membership enables us to closely partner with NBIA and bring us unparalleled opportunities in member services, professional development and small business programs. We are very excited to be part of a growing group of state associations brought together by NBIA.”

The new membership category was created to provide additional benefits and assistance for these sister organizations, which are dedicated to serving entrepreneurial support professionals within their city, state or region, both in the United States and abroad. NBIA Association members are able to disperse NBIA “scholarships” to two regional member organizations as a sponsored membership. The association is also eligible to receive a dedicated landing page on NBIA’s website in addition to the many standard NBIA member benefits. The NBIA members in this category are also afforded opportunities to partner with NBIA on customized training and other initiatives to support the unique need of their members.

Kirstie Chadwick, President and CEO of NBIA says, “We realized there was a real opportunity to not just bring together disparate state-level organizations here in the U.S., but to also collaborate and share best practices across the globe. With this new membership category, our goal is to strengthen relationships with our sister regional associations to ultimately better serve a broad set of members, share best practices and advance the global entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
