Follow on Google News | Kinston Family Network Celebrates 6th Year Anniversary!Group Announces Upcoming Plans and Seeks Volunteers To Join Their New Task Force
By: Kinston Family Network KFN Founder & CEO, Wanda Armstead Smith, says she's excited about what the group is planning and has issued a challenge to see more people work together in making a difference. "I have faith that our Executive Director, Angela Williams, can lead our group to the next level, but she needs our help. We want to foster a results-driven environment of teamwork and collaboration, but will not entertain those who only want to cause drama or promote their own personal agenda. We don't want to be a group who meets for the sake of meeting and never produces any real results! So, instead of creating inactive committees, we are in the process of developing task force teams that will address several areas of need in Kinston." The KFN is currently seeking volunteers who will be committed to making things happen by joining one of their task forces: Youth Empowerment Task Force, Senior Enrichment Task Force & Economic Development Task Force. Each task force will be comprised of 3 to 12 Kinston stakeholders who can share their expertise and help to create specific, measurable goals for the year and ensure they are met. Each team will make an effort to work in collaboration with other organizations or individuals who are already working towards similar goals. The KFN will host an informational meeting within the next few weeks to discuss plans in more detail. Angela Williams says, "I am so pleased with the number of people who have pledged to join us in our efforts. We're looking for a few talented and conscientious members to lead and strengthen the KFN. What we need now are people who are truly committed and who works well with others. If you are interested in joining a particular task force, please send me an email @ pr@kinstonfamilynetwork.org expressing your particular interest and how you can add to the team. Selected individuals will be contacted for further instructions." About The KFN? The KFN is an international, civic group founded by Wanda Armstead Smith on 07/09/09. The group's mission is to provide additional support and resources to the city of Kinston, NC. We will achieve this through our grassroots efforts to get the community more involved and by partnering with other entities who are already making great things happen in this beloved city! The group's vision is to serve as an online AND offline community network to enable local and international stakeholders to stay connected, engage in discussions regarding relevant issues and share our resources.
