Catastrophic Impacts of Climate Change Not Seen as Imminent

SEU’s Latest Survey says Expending Money on Possible Future Events is Not the Way to Go

RENO, Nev. - July 8, 2015 - PRLog -- The COP-21 meeting on Climate Change is scheduled to take place in Paris in December 2015. The G7 Countries are pinning great hopes on its success.  The U.S. Administration is moving aggressively on Climate Change preparations under Executive Authority. The UN IPCC report says manmade activities are responsible for global warming, and unless we control the harmful emissions, we will exceed global temperature increase of 20C. If we allow this to happen, humankind will be confronted with disasters (floods, sea-level rise, diseases, etc.).

Smart Energy Universe (SEU) is in the forefront of reporting on Smart energy and Climate Change. Millions of readers worldwide have come to rely on our smart energy reporting.

Each week, SEU conducts a survey on a current smart energy issue (“Smart Energy Virtual Town Hall”). The results are published on the smart energy website. Our surveys are widely read and discussed in the social media.

Last week, the discussion centered on the President’s Plan to initiate plans in the U.S. and spend billions of dollars to make advance preparations to combat the expected catastrophic events due to Climate Change.

SEU asked: “Is the Administration taking the correct steps in expending funds to prepare for the possible effects of climate change (floods, rise in sea level, etc.)?.” The results are interesting. Nearly 6 out of 10 want the administration to focus on controlling harmful emissions and first complete studies to confirm that catastrophic events   are due to Climate Change and not naturally occurring disasters.  For complete responses to the survey please go to www.smartenergyuniverse.com/Spotlight.

SEU’s Spotlight section provides highlights of significant news events of the week. A synopsis of major Climate Change news items are covered in the Spotlight section under “This Week in Climate Change” to give a quick overview of climate change happenings of the week. Readers can go on to read details of the Climate Change articles in the Renewables section Some of the news trending on SEU social media sites this week includes:

BP reaches $18.7 Billion Agreement on Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill,

Germany’s Energy Plan,

U.S-Brazil Presidential Bi-Lateral Talks,

Hawaii and Vermont Set High Renewable Portfolio Standard Targets

Cal Utilities File Distributed Resource Plan,………….., among others

We can look at Climate Change actions and see, “the cup as either half-empty or half full”; there are ongoing worldwide actions to ensure it is at least half full. SEU is there to cover all the activity!
