SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. - July 8, 2015 - PRLog -- Need the perfect Christmas gift for the avid fisherman or sailor on your list?

Offshore Classics Originals™ has a suggestion:  our unique “Fishing Reel” and “Sailing Winch” salt & pepper grinders.

Imagine their joy at opening a gift box containing these unique and distinctive salt & pepper mills.  As they crank on the life-like handle, they can just see themselves grinding in a trophy-sized fish or trimming the spinnaker on a downwind course.  He or she will immediately start visualizing using them to season that big steak fresh from the grill.  While these reels and winches probably won’t ever help to actually land that “big one” or win a race, they most assuredly will give the sailor years of enjoyment and conversation.

Modeled after the famous offshore fishing reels from Penn International® and winches from Lewmar® and Harken®, these “junior-sized” (compared to the real thing) salt & pepper mills are built to similar exacting manufacturing specifications as their actual “big brothers.”  The Offshore Classics mills are entirely “made in America,” using component parts made from marine grade materials.

The reels feature anodized aluminum tops and bottoms with clear acrylic bodies to distinguish the salt and pepper grinders.  The winches’ major components are their machined (not cast) aluminum bodies – silver for salt; black for pepper.  Each mill weighs about 1 lb. each.  They are anodized for sea-air corrosion resistance.  Other parts are precision-machined using 316-grade stainless steel.  The grinding mechanisms (nylon for the acidic sea salt; stainless steel for the pepper) are patented in the U.K and supplied by the major housewares company, Cole & Mason.  Cole & Mason is an almost 100-year old maker of high-quality, gourmet spice grinding systems.  The mills each measure 3 ½” in diameter at the base and stand 4 ½” high; each set weighs 2 ½ lbs.

Introduced at the 1989 Miami International Boat Show, these classic products are a continual “best seller” at yacht chandleries, tackle shops, coastal décor and specialty gift stores around the country and, indeed, internationally.  Over the products’ 25+ year history in the marketplace, many customers report continuous and satisfactory product usage for 15 – 20+ years.  They’re a perfect way to add a touch of nautical décor to any dinner table or coastal living lifestyle.

The salt mills come pre-filled with imported Sicilian coarse-grind sea salt.  The pepper mills come pre-filled with flavorful Indonesian Lampong black pepper corns.  The Offshore Classics Originals “Fishing Reel” and “Sailing Winch” salt & pepper mills are available with an optional teak base designed to protect the tabletop and to catch any residual salt & pepper flakes.  The Offshore Classics “Fishing Reel” grinders are priced at $259.00 per set; the “Sailing Winch” set is priced at $269.00. Both prices include the teak bases.  Individual salt or pepper grinders are also available for $140.00, each, for the reels and $150.00, each, for the winches.

The Offshore Classics Originals “Fishing Reel” and “Sailing Winch” salt & pepper mills can be ordered directly from the company’s Website:  www.offshoreclassics.com.  Or, call the company (727-394-8978) to get the name of the closest retail dealer.
