ORANGE CITY, Fla. - July 8, 2015 - PRLog -- Florida Hospital Fish Memorial has begun a $1.75 million construction project to update 6,500 square feet within the hospital, including the main entrance lobby, chapel and gift shop.

The renovations will make it easier for both patients and visitors to navigate to inpatient and outpatient areas and will enhance the spiritual services available with a new chapel. The updated entrance and lobby will have an open, contemporary and inviting design and will include new flooring and updated furniture, including an information desk.

During construction, the hospital’s main entrance and loop in front of the hospital will be blocked off for construction. However, there will be no changes to parking. Patients and visitors can still park in front of the hospital. The public can access the hospital through a temporary awning-covered entrance that leads into the cafeteria. A temporary information desk will be located in the cafeteria conference room and will be staffed by hospital volunteers.

The new chapel will face the front of the hospital and patients and visitors will be able to see the chapel’s stained glass as they approach the facility. The chapel’s expansion will absorb the current administration offices, which are moving into Florida Hospital Fish Memorial’s Summit Building, located on the hospital’s campus at 1061 Medical Center Drive, Suite 310 in Orange City.

Additionally, the hospital’s pastoral care department has relocated to the hospital’s first floor and the gift shop will be closed during construction.

Construction is expected to be completed by November 2015.
