Kara Dolan Named Making a Difference Leader Scholarship Recipient from Royal Neighbors of America

CARLSBAD, Calif. - July 8, 2015 - PRLog -- Philosophers and sages say one way you can change the world is to help one person at a time. Royal Neighbors of America, a life insurance organization with a 120-year-old philanthropic mission of neighbor-helping-neighbor, put that advice into action by naming Kara Dolan from Carlsbad, CA, as the recipient of its Making a Difference Leader Scholarship. She will be attending the University of California San Diego in La Jolla, CA.

         The Making a Difference Leader Scholarship is awarded to the top female recipient of the Royal Neighbors’ 2015 Making a Difference Scholarship winners. Dolan will receive a four-year renewable scholarship worth up to $20,000 ($5,000 each year).  The other 10 Making a Difference scholarship winners receive four-year, renewable grants worth up to $8,000 ($2,000 each year).

     The scholarships are awarded annually to help graduating high school seniors earn a degree at an accredited college or university. Only members of Royal Neighbors are eligible to apply. Beyond the scholarship program, membership benefits currently include free and discounted legal services and health and retail discounts.

    Since its creation in 1961, the Royal Neighbors of America Scholarship Program has awarded nearly $5 million to its members to assist with the costs of continuing education.  Details about the program are located at www.royalneighbors.org.
