Follow on Google News | Missouri State University, US, announces Masters of Science in Administrative Studies admissionsBy: Missouri State University MSU is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, US, which ensures that the MSAS programme, along with other university programmes, meets standards for excellence in higher education. Elaborating on the programme, Colonel Kent D Thomas, Assistant Vice President, International Programmes, MSU, said, “The MSAS programme is the most-sought after programme by international students because of its interdisciplinary nature and hence, a wide range of career options. The 33-hour (minimum) programme currently involves 10 academic departments across five colleges, viz, College of Arts and Letters, College of Business, College of Health and Human Services, College of Natural and Applied Sciences and the College of Public Affairs”. The programme is designed for candidates with established career paths with a minimum of three years of work experience. Students can take course work that builds competencies in organisational communication, information systems, personnel issues, legal/political issues, budgeting, and research design/methods. “Admission to the course is competitive and meeting the minimum standards for admission would not alone guarantee acceptance into the programme. Besides, it is not mandatory to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) for admission, but student with a GPA below a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, must submit his GRE/GMAT scores”, said Dr Gerald Masterson, Programme Coordinator, MSAS, MSU. The MSAS programme prepares an individual for a variety of administrative positions in a wide range of organisations like defence sector or private investigative firms. Successful completion of the programme would not only expand a student’s knowledge base and skills for enhanced administrative roles within organisations, but also make him/her a global citizen, given his interaction with cross-culture peers, faculty and relevant industry people during internships.
