Follow on Google News | 10 Year Old Extreme Martial Artist Zach Thomas Wins World Title at US Open Martial Arts TournamentIn a fierce competition with the world's best martial artists, Zach placed 1st scoring 9.99 9.99 and 9.97 from the juding panel. Zach's skill was measured by his power, speed and technique of the martial arts moves and acrobatic moves. Zach's extreme routine includes elements of martial arts and gymnastics such as the cartwheel full swing through cork to split, flash kick, and scoot cheat 900 touchdown raise cork screw. Zach started martial arts at the age of 3. Zach can be found teaching and practicing up to six days per week at his families' school in Wichita, KS. Zach's credentials include 6 other World Titles he won in Italy in the fall of 2014 as a member of Team USA. Zach's dream is to become a stuntman in the film industry. The martial arts extreme division has evolved as the sport of "tricking" has gained popularity. Tricking is a combination of martial arts and gymnastics moves. Many times, competitors will battle in a "dance off" format. Most notably, a tricking event was sponsored by Redbull at the Redbull Throwdown. The US Open Martial Arts tournament is the only tournament to be featured on ESPN2. The event was held in Orlando Florida at the Coronado Springs Resort on Disney.
