DRESHER, Pa. - July 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Ascensus, the nation’s largest independent retirement plan and college savings services provider, is pleased to announce the winners of its 2015 Ascensus Core Values Scholarship. Presented annually since 2011, the Core Values Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who exemplify Ascensus’ Core Values: People Matter. Quality First. Integrity Always.®

The Core Values Scholarship program is offered both within the Ascensus organization, benefiting the children of associates, and within high schools across Ascensus locations, benefiting students who live in these office communities. Scholarship winners receive $1,000 each to fund their college educations.

In addition to meeting the scholarship requirements of good academic standing, a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, and application or acceptance into a college or university for any degree program, all winners submitted essays describing how they would incorporate Ascensus’ Core Values into their respective careers.

The 2015 Core Values Scholarship winners were as follows:

· David Supinski (Brainerd High School, Brainerd, MN) plans to attend Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) in the fall. “If you treat people as though they matter, pursue quality first, and always have integrity in what you do, it will lead you to success,” he stated in his application essay. “These principles are ones that will continue to sculpt the pillars of my life throughout college and my future medical career.”

· Gillian Gehri (Madison East High School, Madison, WI) hopes to pursue a career in scientific research and demonstrated her understanding of how integral these values are to Ascensus’ company culture. “Ascensus’ Core Values of appreciating people, striving for quality first, and honoring integrity are essential for a successful, encouraging, and honest workplace,” concluded the future Swarthmore College (Swarthmore, PA) student.

· Dawn Swartz (Pillager High School, Pillager, MN) plans to major in microbiology at North Dakota State University (Fargo, ND). As a student athlete and sports captain throughout her high school career, Swartz developed a deep appreciation for all three of the Core Values and plans to apply these principles to her future work with various teams of specialists as a medical parasitologist.

· Yazlyn Robles (West Roxbury Academy, Boston, MA) plans to study criminal justice at Fitchburg State University (Fitchburg, MA) and related to Ascensus’ lead Core Value—People Matter. “I believe, as Ascensus does, that all people deserve a chance to grow, achieve, and advance,” stated Robles.

· Annabelle Revak (Spooner High School, Spooner, WI) also drew a close connection between her career aspirations in show business and the “People Matter” Core Value. “What would a show be without an audience? The goal of the theater and music is to produce a piece that transports the audience outside themselves,” stated this Columbia College (Chicago, IL) incoming freshman.

· Rebecca Austin (Freehold Township High School, Freehold, NJ) is an aspiring speech-language pathologist and future Stockton University (Galloway, NJ) student. She stated that the quality of her work “will mean all the difference in this career path,” as she will be responsible for assisting her clients in communicating verbally, which she feels is an essential and beautiful aspect of the human experience.

· Brian Creonte (Wellesley High School, Wellesley, MA) relates particularly well to the third and final Ascensus Core Value—Integrity Always. “Similar to Ascensus, I believe that the most basic and important value of any meaningful relationship is trust…One quotation that is influential to me is, ‘Success will come and go, but integrity is forever,’” stated this future Tufts University (Boston, MA) student.

“We believe it is important to take an active role in supporting the communities in which we live and work,” stated Amy Walker, Ascensus’ senior vice president of human resources. “Our company’s Core Values guide us internally as well as in our external relationships. It’s our pleasure to honor these outstanding students who understand and embrace these values.”
