NEW YORK - July 6, 2015 - PRLog -- TODAY’S MOTIVATION MONDAY ~ “Walk for America" Expanded

9-11-01 changed a lot of people’s lives.  It changed America.  And it changed the world.  So, when faced with a new day to begin the “Walk for America” 9-11 became the obvious choice.

The Walk for America” is about motivating and inspiring Americans to talk more about the positives of America, not the negative.   To take responsibility for our life choices and not blame the government or others for where they are in life.  To promote all of the positive opportunities in America that people all around the world come here for and take advantage of and we as Americans don’t.  The “American Dream” is alive and well and we have more immigrants than ever taking advantage of that, but our children need to realize that the “American Dream” is alive and well for them too, not just for immigrants!  They just embrace it more, because of where they come from.

The “Walk for America” is the creation of Kevin L. McCrudden, President of Motivate America, Founder of National Motivation & Inspiration Day and the Creator of The American Motivation Awards. In addition to setting a new departure date, McCrudden added a twist to the walk by extending an invitation to one retired, volunteer member of each branch of the military to join him on the 3,000 mile “Walk for America.

He says,  “I am the son of Irish immigrants that came to America after World War II, because they believed that America was the greatest country in the world and they instilled that in us.   The “K” in my name was given to me, because I was born one month after President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.  His most famous words have been repeated many times over the past 50 years and yet, not truly embraced; “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country!’  So, this is what I am doing for my country. I am going to walk across America, for America. To help remind Americans of the greatness of America and why we are so lucky to call this our home.”

McCrudden is the only motivational and leadership speaker in America to ever have a day of recognition passed by The United States Congress and introduces the most significant addition to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs in his book, “Who Are You? Become the Very Best You That You can Be,” so he is referred to as “Mr. Motivation” and “America’s CMO ~ Chief Motivation Officer.”

The “Walk for America” was supposed to commence on July 4th, but was postponed because of some logistical issues and a lack of the support for the GoFundMe page (https://funds.gofundme.com/dashboard/wb3epww )  that was established to help support the walk and raise money for three military charities.

Operation Homefront (http://www.operationhomefront.net/ );

The Wounded Warrior Project (http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ )  ;

and Operation Reinvent (http://operationreinvent.org/ )

“I was never in the military, but I have always respected the military. In fact, one of my mentors, John L. Behan is a Marine that served in Viet Nam and was the #1 cadet off Paris Island, SC in 1967.  I had the privilege of honoring John with an American Motivation Award, but we have also honored Pat Tillman; Michael P. Murphy, The Tuskegee Airmen, J.R, Martinez and Military Families in 2008,” says McCrudden.

“I had a number of people saying that they would be willing to walk with me or would like to walk with me.  So, now that we had to change the date, why not provide the opportunity for retired members of the military to join me for the walk and along the walk,” concluded McCrudden.

The “Walk for America!”  will now commence from lower Manhattan, NYC from either Battery Park or The Freedom Tower on Friday, September 11th with the goal of ending in San Diego, CA on Veterans Day, November 11th.

The route has also changed and Governors from each state that the participants have to walk through will be invited to participate and walk with them.  Organizations are invited and encouraged to join Kevin and his fellow walkers along the journey.    Sponsors are also encouraged to pledge money to the GoFundMe page for  $.25 cents, $.50 cents and $1.00 a mile, as well as corporate sponsors that are willing to provide product for the walkers.

New Balance shoes was the first company to support Kevin’s effort for “Walk for America” and sent several pairs of shoes and workout apparel for the walk.

Over the next 8 weeks, there will be more and more details released about the “Walk for America.”
