Two webinars explore ESI Workflows and The Paralegal’s Role in eDiscovery

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

Mark Walker
, is a nationally renowned electronic discovery, trial support expert and author with more than 30 years of experience in the field, and is currently Director of eDiscovery and Trial Support of LCI.

In addition to authoring books on discovery and litigation support, Walker has put his expertise to use in litigation involving many of the world’s largest corporations, including Halliburton, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), CVS, Hospital Corporation of America, Intel, Dow Chemical, Miller Beer, SAP, AMD, Raytheon, Georgia Pacific, Exxon, Phillip Morris, Bristol Myers, Texas Instruments and Xerox, just to name a few.

Walker has served as senior director of consulting and client services for two national solution providers, and has overseen all eDiscovery and forensic services provided by those firms, as well as consulting with law firms and corporations to develop technology solutions to litigation challenges. Walker has also been a part of the legal department at AMD, and the law firms of Jackson Walker, Brown McCarroll and Susman Godfrey, LLP. He began his career in 1982 as the Court Coordinator for Judge Michael O’Brien – 125th District Court, Harris County, Texas.

Walker is a graduate of Marion Military Institute, (1976 – 1979; Military Science), and Texas School for the Judiciary (1986; Court Administration). He also attended the University of Houston (1982 – 1985; Communications, Psychology and Business Administration).

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

Linda A. Carrette, CP
is a seasoned legal professional with over 30 years of experience in the legal industry throughout Texas.  She is currently a litigation paralegal with Strasburger & Price, LLP in Houston, Texas.  Throughout her legal career, Linda has fulfilled many roles in addition to paralegal, including project manager, legal recruiter, firm administrator, management consultant, and practice support manager in all aspects of databases and e-discovery, as well as faculty member at several premier paralegal educational programs.  She has spent the last decade focusing on high-level training and developing an expertise in litigation technology, assisting legal teams in identifying key e-discovery issues, providing consulting in best practices of processing ESI, and the development of strategies in the preservation and collection of electronic data and effective implementation of legal hold orders.

She has a BBA in Business Management, a Masters in Business Administration, and earned her CP designation through NALA in 1990.  In addition, Linda is board certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, one of only 93 paralegals in the State of Texas to achieve this specialty designation. She is a graduate of NALA’s 2008-2009 LEAP program.  She has served on the board of Houston Paralegal Association as First Vice President-CLE, Second Vice President-Membership, NALA Liaison, and currently, as HPA’s Treasurer.  Linda is currently serving a second term on the Board of Directors of the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas, having previously served as Director from 1991-1994.  She has also served on the governing and advisory boards of the Center for Advanced Legal Studies since 1989, and has taught Legal Research and Writing at the Center.  She is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the National Association of Women MBAs.  Linda has also previously written articles for Paralegal Today, authored and edited various textbooks published by Matthew Bender, and served on the ABA’s Approval Commission site visit team.
