Follow on Google News | Apex Lifts wins towering new refurb contractApex Lifts has been awarded a City of London tender to refurbish the North and South tower passenger lifts at Tower Bridge, and replace vital equipment in the Waterloo Block at Tower of London.
By: APEX LIFTS Exciting design elements have been added to the lifts by Apex, too, including new lift car flooring added to South tower lift with an arrow to direct passengers to the tower bridge engine rooms, and stylish vinyl graphics have been applied to exit walls, reading “Follow blue line to the Engine Rooms” in the South and “Step Inside” in the North lift to help visitors get their bearings. “We were working to a set timeframe to refurbish the Tower Bridge lifts,” says Ray Murray, Apex Lifts Repair Sales Consultant. “We were able to complete the works on time in a safe, efficient manner – and the new vinyl designs look great too!” “The Lift Car Refurbishment at Tower Bridge Towers was completed to a high standard including out of hour working to minimise the disruption of all stakeholders and the general public,” says Patrick Stapleton, Senior Principal Lift Engineer, City of London. Simultaneously, the Apex engineers visited the Tower of London to conduct further repairs; the passenger lift in the Waterloo Block has had its control panels, door operator and signalling equipment replaced.
