Follow on Google News | An Appetite for Art Brings Retro 1950s Celebration to Boynton Beach, Fla. July 23By: Community Caring Center Boynton Beach AN APPETITE FOR ART, a Helping the Hungry Summer Foodie/Artist Series will present a Retro Celebration of the 1950s on July 23. Proceeds will benefit Community Caring Center Boynton Beach Hunger Programs. The event is 1950s themed all around – 50s era live music by local favorites One Plus One Band (George and Marion Frega,) 50s cocktails, appetizers, soup or salad, and desserts, and an art exhibit by Harriet Flashenberg, noted glass artist, who will be present to talk about her work. Two events are happening that evening. · An Artist’s Reception with Harriet Flashenberg, Wine and Appetizers. This will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. at $25. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. · Then also on Thursday, July 23, from 6:30 to 10 p.m., is the Dinner and Live Music with Dancing, at $50. Included in the dinner event: Cocktails at 6:30 p.m. Old Fashioned, Gimlet, Manhattan, Tang - One per person. Appetizers: Oyster Rockefeller, Rumaki w/Pineapple, Swedish Meatballs, Deviled Eggs, Pineapple-SpamKabobs Buffet at 7 p.m. Cash Wine Bar, Live 50's Music, Dancing Poodle Skirts& Saddle Shoes optional. The series provides a reception to meet the artist and an opportunity to discuss medium, purchase original autographed pieces of art, a raffle for an original piece of art, and a souvenir piece provided by the artist to each patron who sponsors each event.
