Follow on Google News | World Education Foundation, UK to launch School-Ratings in IndiaBy: World Education Foundation, UK Mr. Anuraag Saxena, Regional Head for Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore, said, “Schools should have the ability to showcase their strengths to parents. The international seal-of-trust and the star-ratings allows school administrators to communicate their school’s achievements, and use that data for self-improvement.” India has over 14 lakh schools, more than the rest of Asia put together. WEF, UK aims to bring about structure and transparency in how schools choose to communicate their effectiveness in learning-outcomes. Mr. Saxena said, “Parents today are shooting in the dark... about what a good school means, and about which school is best for their child’s specific needs. Parents are afraid of taking wrong decisions about their child’s future. The WEF rating ensures quality.” He added, “We welcome schools to take advantage of the Developing Nations Subsidy Scheme (DNSS) that allows schools in India to achieve the rating at a fraction of what it costs elsewhere.” About the World Education Foundation The World Education Foundation (http://www.wefuk.org) is a UK-based, not for profit that enables improved learning-outcomes globally.
