3. Add Extra Organizing Bins to Your Dorm Desk. Dorm desks come in many varieties and may or may not have upper shelves to hold textbooks and other desk items. The way to take advantage of this storage area is to stack bins and shelves to hold these books and other desk items.

4. Take Advantage of Vertical Space. Adding dorm organizers that use a lot of horizontal space on the desk, floor, or closet can make a room feel cramped. When adding organization bins, stack them vertically and look for organizers that are taller instead of wider in order to maximize space.

5. Add Closet Shelf Organizers. Dorm closets can be pretty small and there may or may not be a dresser. There’s no way the closet is going to hold all of the clothes it needs to. Taking advantage of a variety of shelf organizers will take up minimal closet rod space and use vertical closet space instead.
