Gooch & Housego, world-leading photonics technology company, overhauls website

TORQUAY, U.K. - July 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Gooch & Housego, the Somerset-based photonics technology business which also has operations in the USA and Europe, is to launch a newly designed website.  The company designs, engineers and manufactures advanced photonic systems, modules, components and instrumentation for applications in the Aerospace & Defence, Industrial, Life Sciences and scientific research sectors and it appointed Modern following a pitch process.

Modern’s brief was to improve the website’s usability through re-architecture of the site so that it could be used more effectively in corporate communications.

Modern and G&H carried out in depth research to determine the needs of users. This research resulted in insight that contributed to every stage of the website improvements, from planning through to design and build.  The research results are key to the success of the overall project.

One of the key findings was that the core capabilities of G&H were not highlighted so a new Capabilities section has been made available to showcase their in-house expertise.

Additionally the new site has addressed previous problems in a number of demonstrable ways:

It has shortened the path to crucial product information from 6 to 2 clicks

It has been designed with the future in mind – it allows for growth and further development over the coming years

The speed has been improved by over 21% with further speed improvements planned in the coming weeks
