July 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Mammalian brain development depends on the complex orchestration of neural stem cell proliferation and differentiation, localization of new neurons to their proper place, and their subsequent generation of axonal and dendritic connections. Doublecortin (DCX), a protein enriched in young neurons, is an essential factor involved in neuronal migration and axon tract formation. Though it binds to several proteins, DCX’s interaction with, and stabilization of, microtubules has received the most attention. Loss of normal DCX function results in disrupted hippocampal and cortical layering that causes lissencephaly syndrome in male children and X-linked subcortical laminar heterotopia in females. GeneTex offers an outstanding selection of antibodies that cover a wide spectrum of neuroscience research.

Synonyms: DBCN antibody, DC antibody, FLJ51296 antibody, LISX antibody, SCLH antibody, XLIS antibody, DCX antibody, lissencephalin-X antibody, doublin antibody, lis-X antibody, neuronal migration protein doublecortin antibody, doublecortex antibody, doublecortin antibody.
