Kent State’s College of Business Administration Professor’s Book Released on Amazon

July 1, 2015 - PRLog -- The College of Business Administration’s Ph.D. Director Pratim Datta’s book titled “Competitive Analytics: An Overview and Reference Primer” was released on Amazon.

Datta is a two-time Farris Family Research Innovation Fellow and an associate professor of IS and supply chains at Kent State University. Ranked among the top 40 researchers internationally, Datta has over 55 journal articles and conference proceedings with multiple best paper awards. Datta focuses on IS and supply chain use, performance and security as well as cross-functional corporate decision-making. He has won Kent State’s Paul Pfeiffer Professional Teaching Award, received the Outstanding MBA Professor Award and is a valued member of the Executive MBA Program.

Datta’s book discusses competitive analytics that uses analytical metrics, models, and mining to create a business’s competitive advantage. The book is answers the persistent and lingering questions that plague analytical decision-makers as well as research faculty and students.

“Competitive analytics contributes to the greater understanding of how we choose metrics and the type of analytical techniques used in various situations,” said Datta. Specifically, the book examines the effectiveness of diverse boards in supervising managers’ corporate social responsibility performance. Diversity increases firms’ ability to recognize the interests of their broader groups of stakeholders. Datta’s book supports the call for greater board diversity from regulators in the U.S. and European countries.
