Event Synopsis:

The American with Disabilities Act (ADA) has played an important role in protecting handicapped individuals from discrimination and ensuring equal opportunities and rights. However, this regulation also poses a risk to businesses that fail to comply with the regulations either in facilities or on the internet . The number of lawsuits has increased dramatically, many of which are insidious ‘drive-by lawsuits’ aimed at profiteering. One person in Los Angeles has filed 375 law suits to date against establishments in a single California county.

The risk of such law suits will spread rapidly across the US until the regulations are revised in a rational manner. Until then, businesses will be wise to understand the requirements of the ADA and any state laws, upgrade their facilities to comply with the law, revise websites to comply, prepare strategies for law suits, and have disability experts and lawyers review their policies, procedures, facilities, and websites for compliance.

In this two hour, live, CLE webcast, a panel of thought leaders and practitioners assembled by The Knowledge Group will discuss the very significant Litigation Risks Under the ADA and provide a review of What You Need to Know to Protect Your Business in 2015.

Key topics include:

ADA Litigation- An Overview
New Proposed Regulations under ADA
Common ADA Violations
Website and Mobile Application Access for the Disabled
Accessible Website Standards
Adoption Issues and Challenges
Possible Implications for Private Online Companies
Best Compliance and Risk Mitigation Practices
Reasonable Legal Actions
Compliance and Regulatory Risks
