WHO: Dr. Maxine Hickman, President of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women San Francisco Chapter (NCBWSF), Maureen Sedonaen, CEO of Goodwill Industries San Francisco, San Mateo, and Marin, Former San Francisco Mayor Willie L. Brown Jr. (Invited),Wilkes Bashford (Invited); I. Lee Murphy Reed, President Emeritus NCBWSF & members of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women and special guests. WHAT: Reception & announcement of the On-line auction launch of the Dr. Maxine Hickman San Francisco National Coalition of 100 Black Women WHERE: Goodwill 1500 Mission Street , Atrium of the Job Training Center WHEN: Thursday, July 16, 2015, 6-8 p.m. WHY: The Dr. Maxine Hickman San Francisco National Coalition of 100 Black Women Collection inspired by the Mayor Willie Brown Collection helps Goodwill’s Mission to fund job training and placement programs that give local people a second chance and a dignified path out of poverty. · Goodwill places more than 600 people in local jobs this year; · Goodwill diverts over 21 million pounds of materials from local as a result of donations like Dr. Hickman and Mayor Brown’s collections. · The Dr. Hickman San Francisco National Coalition of 100 Black Women’s Collection borne of Mayor Brown’s call to action at the recent Donate-a-thon that is held the last day of the year, December 31st, is now a call to action for other groups and individuals to donate to Goodwill to provide training, jobs, and dignity for those overcoming poverty. Visuals: In advance of reception Goodwill training classes, donation collection center-sorting & arranging new donation & stores-people observing & purchasing merchandise. At reception samples of the collections will be on hand and informal modeling, along with tours of the job center. End
