Weekend Dance Intensive for Adults in NYC with Instructors from Steps, Ailey, & Gibney – Only $85!

NEW YORK - June 30, 2015 - PRLog -- The International Partner Dance Intensive (TIPDI), a summer dance program for adults announces a special 2-day dance event – “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Classical Dance, But Were Afraid to Ask”. Taking place Saturday, July 18^th and Sunday, July 19^th at DANY Studios near Times Square, in New York City, “Everything You Ever Wanted…” is a Ballet and Modern Dance “boot camp” designed specifically for adult dancers and adult dance enthusiasts.

“We wanted to create an intensive that was fun, friendly, and non-competitive. TIPDI has built its excellent reputation on the fact that our classes truly value the experience, and occasional limitations, that come with being an older dancer, and we’ve put together a great classical dance weekend with that in mind. No 15-year olds in Miley Cyrus t-shirts with their legs wrapped around their heads. No crowded rooms where everyone already knows the warm-up. We are providing top-tier instruction in an adults-only environment, for a reasonable fee.” Says TIPDI’s Artistic Director, Paula Wilson.

The weekend intensive, which runs from 2 pm – 7 pm on Saturday and Sunday, features 6 hours of technique class and a 2-hour choreography workshop in either Ballet or Modern. Classes are offered at two levels – “Beginner” and “Some Experience”. There is an optional informal studio showing of the work from the choreography workshop at the end of the day on July 19^th. Participants can also choose to attend a dance performance in NYC on Saturday night. Classes are taught by Sasha Soreff (Gibney Dance Center, DNA, Ailey School, Sasha Soreff Dance Theater) and Elizabeth Douglas (Steps on Broadway, 92^nd Street Y, Ballet Hispanico, and Xodus Dance Project).

The “Early Bird” rate of $85 is offered through July 6^th only. The regular fee for participation is $105 and at-the-door tuition is $125. Participants can also choose to take technique classes only for $90 or $115 at-the-door. Participation is limited to 50 dancers total. Early registration is recommended.
