LOS ANGELES - June 30, 2015 - PRLog -- Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist and producer Elizaveta will soon bring her unique sound and spellbinding melodies to fans near and far with the release of her new full-length independent album, “Messenger,” on June 29th, 2015. The first single from the album “Trap” was released on iTunes on Monday, June 1st, and was recently featured in the Russian major motion picture “Ghost.” In addition, Elizaveta's song “Time Of Your Life” (also from the new album Messenger) will be featured on VH1’s prime time on air menus for the month of July.

“Trap is a song about obsession, life and death,” states Elizaveta. “Though it may read as a romantic ballad, it’s anything but. The music video we shot for this song features Egyptian symbolism, although in a modern setting. We shot most of the video in New Orleans and underwater.”

Offered on Elizaveta’s own Flower Army Records, “Messenger” was written, produced and arranged by Elizaveta (with the exception of two songs, “Trap” & “Space Pirate’s Love Song,” which were co-produced by J Paulsen & Elizaveta) and recorded in Los Angeles, CA. Grammy winner Rob Chiarelli mixed all of the ten songs on the record and the Brooklyn-based band Great Caesar are featured on the tune “Messenger.”

Reflecting on “Messenger,” Elizaveta says, “It covers mythology, satellites, life-after-death, space pirates and living in Los Angeles.”

Born in New York City to diplomat parents, Elizaveta grew up in Moscow, Russia. She started playing piano and writing songs when she was five years old. Her childhood was full of music, but also shadowed by fears of potential fallout from a major head trauma she received as a baby, which left her with a mild case of synesthesia and prone to dramatic episodes of sleepwalking. When she turned 15, she left home and embarked upon a 3-year journey across Europe. She played piano and sang in seedy European nightclubs, studied herbal alchemy in an Italian monastery, and finished it off by attending the Prague Academy of Music. Her gypsy star then took her to Los Angeles, where she graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in opera and music composition.

In 2011, Elizaveta signed a deal with Universal Republic Records and immediately went into the studio with the multi-Grammy award winner and producer Greg Wells (Adele, Rufus Wainwright, Katy Perry, and Elton John) who helped Elizaveta hone her “opera-pop” vision and style. The result was her 2012 major label debut Beatrix Runs, which featured the iTunes Song Of The Week & single “Dreamer.”

With that debut, Elizaveta distinguished herself as the “5th Element” of pop by mixing opera with electronica, classical and soul. Elizaveta leftUniversal Republic Records in 2013 and launched her own label, ‘Flower Army Records,’ later that year. In spring of 2014, the self-titled track “Hero” from her Hero EP was remixed by electronic music duo Pegboard Nerds and featured in the viral video "Superman with a GoPro," garnering over 17 million views on YouTube.

Since then, Elizaveta’s music has been featured in a cadre of films and numerous television shows, such as “Pretty Little Liars,” “So You Think You Can Dance,”  “Scandal” and “The Affair,” amongst others. She is also the voice of the Tavern Bard in the award-winning video game “Dragon Age-Inquisistion” and has toured widely both in Europe and the United States, recently performing at the renowned TED Global Conference.

Elizaveta will perform songs from her forthcoming album Messenger at The Troubadour in London, UK on July 9th, Hotel Café in Los Angeles on July 19th and The Battery in San Francisco on July 22, 2015.

“2014 was a tumultuous year for many, and 2015 seems to pack a punch. My hope is that ‘Messenger’ can be a soundtrack to lift people’s hearts – make them smile, cry, dream and dance a little. A musical message in a bottle.” - Elizaveta
