Hodges University Center for Nonprofit Excellence Holds Effective Communication Workshop on July 7

FORT MYERS, Fla. - June 30, 2015 - PRLog -- The Center for Nonprofit Excellence at Hodges University will host a two-hour workshop on effective communication and listening topics. The workshop will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Fort Myers campus, 4501 Colonial Boulevard.

Guests will gain insight on the popular methods of communicating including face-to-face, telephone, email and texts. Topics include the challenges of active listening, such as selective attention, selective interpretation, and selective retention, and the tools available to help participants become more effective when communicating with co-workers, donors, family and friends.

Those in attendance will have an opportunity after the two-hour workshop to participate in a 30-minute exercise to apply what was discussed during class.

Presenting the workshop is Robin Larkin, a partner of Performance Management Associates focusing on consulting and business development for small to mid-sized organizations.
