NEW YORK - June 30, 2015 - PRLog -- Designer Violins were founded by Juilliard trained violist Rozanna Weinberger. Motivated by a desire to help children connect to the wonders of music & art, and seek to merge quality instruments with cool looking designs. Their target market has been children while developing new electro acoustic models suitable for more advanced players of Jazz, Pop, Rock, Fiddle.

Designer Violins Breaks New Ground!
In 2014 the company discovered it was possible to have the design work put on the instrument in the USA. By sourcing instruments locally the company could then put literally any design on an instrument within an hour. Using a 'skin' or vinyl print, much like those used on guitars, the violins could be done in the same way.

No sooner did the company make this revelation than the opportunity arose to design and produce a Snowflake Violin to be sold with the violin sheet music to the Disney animated movie, FROZEN. This was an industry first on many levels.

Taking The Company To The Next Level
Following the success of this violin, the company sought to improve the quality of design implementation and again took a cue from the guitar world. The ArtGuitar Printer, used by leading guitar manufacturers, was the next step. Withf demand for the violins doubling and tripling yearly it finally came time to pursue this option. The company also needed a way to house these operations which was solved when St. Louis Music agreed to bring the company into their fold where operations will run.

The Digital Airbrush™ process was created by Stephen Spurgeon and Tyler Nylund for customizing and digitally painting guitars. This process actually paints the artwork directly onto the guitar. Prior to this development guitar makers relied on vinyl decals or stickers and hand airbrushing to replicate artwork. The ArtGuitar® process allows the artwork to be produced exactly as the artist intended, directly into the guitar body. The ArtGuitar® process allows for the highest quality “paint-on-paint” finish for creating a gallery-quality piece of art and collectable instrument.

Looking To The Future! Designer Violins fill a need against the backdrop of a changing music world. While it seems many of the well worn paths for bowed string instrument players are dwindling - such as orchestras, opportunities are opening up in genres that include pop, rock, country, all of which lend themselves to creative looking instruments.

Our business model has been inspired by the guitar market. With new designs and colors coming out and the ability to turn around a design in minutes, the company hopes to continue building a reputation for fine quality instruments. combining great sound with fantastic designs.

Rozanna has steadily forged new ground, attracting audiences where few violists have gone, redefining the role of a classically trained violist. She recently soloed at the Tribeca Film Festival sponsored by the Manhattan Producers Alliance. Her career has included world premieres of concertos by Tania Leon and Maurice Gardner and appearances at the International Viola Congress in Canada and Ireland.  While just as comfortable creating music for performances on the runway during Fashion Week.  Her award winning music video, Chromatic Fantasy was screened at International Film Festivals and televised throughout North and South America.

Her unique style led to recording a solo viola part by Christopher Mangum accompanying the King Tut Exhibition, which toured museums throughout the world. As an improviser, Rozanna has played with Sara Caswell, Nigel Kennedy and she’s performed with Madeleine Peyroux at Carnegie Hall and records her own music for Arabesque Recordings. Rozanna has been a solo artist with the El Goriava Dance Company and with the Francesca Harper Dance Project.

Her music videos have been seen throughout North and South America on the Classic Arts Showcase, the TRIO Network, the Park City Film Music Festival, Rhode Island and Columbus International Film Festivals, where Chromatic Fantasy was a prize-winner.

She has been a guest panelist at Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University and Juilliard where she has been a consultant for entrepreneurial studies. Her unique artistic and teaching approach led to creating her own line of violins,‘Rozanna’s Violins.  Rozanna has also written for Strings Magazine. Her belief in music as a means to sensitize children to the world around them has led to workshop a at the United Nations for over 1500 children. Ms. Weinberger has served as a music consultant for the Head Start and New York Pops Music Outreach programs and has recorded for Arabesque Recordings. She is a D’Addario Elite Artist.

Rozanna Weinberger’s understanding about technique has come from having to overcome the effects of breaking her neck at age 15. As a result of this injury Rozanna had vertebrae in her neck fused together, which had an impact on her ability to move her neck, shoulders and arms. While hospitalized for this injury, Ms. Weinberger learned that she had been selected to perform at Kennedy Center with a youth orchestra selected from young talent from every part of the country. Determined to participate, and with just 2 months to recover enough to be part of the performance, she did ultimately participate in the orchestra, despite having to use a neck brace and cast on her leg, from having bone taken from her leg to repair her neck.

Rozanna refused to allow this setback to get in the way of her dream to be a concert soloist and ultimately had the opportunity to perform solo with orchestras along with many other performing opportunities. Her challenge included playing hundreds of thousands of ‘open strings’ observing the difficulties and developing a refined kinesthetic awareness, which enabled the artist to sift through the discomfort and find the optimum approach. As a soloist she has always believed that it is necessary to do difficult things easily and that this is what defines a virtuoso. Her setbacks from breaking her neck, ultimately became the impetus for overcoming challenging situations and learning to play the most difficult music with ease and joy. As a teacher. Rozanna strives to impart similar courage to her students when facing challenges in life! Her violins were created to impart joy to young minds while creating tools for limitless musical possibilities.
