The Heroes 5k comes to Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - June 29, 2015 - PRLog -- NR Road Racing presents the Heroes 5k on August 29th, 2015 at 7:00 PM to support Dreams and Wishes of Tennessee. The event will be held between Two Rivers Golf Course & McGavock High School (2235 2 Rivers Pkwy, Nashville, TN 37214). Race registration is $30 for individuals and $25 per person for teams of 4 or more. Prices for the 5k will increase $5 on July 29. There will be a $40 walk up registration fee. There will be a 1 mile family fun run for $20 per person with a $25 walk up fee. All ages are welcome, however, anyone 12 and older must be registered.  If you are not interested in running, we strongly encourage you to volunteer! Dress as your favorite SuperHero or villain and join the fight with Dreams and Wishes of TN at the Heroes 5K! All levels of super heroes are welcome to participate in this super 5k. Walk, run or fly your way to the finish line. Let your superpowers shine bright at the Heroes 5k! Test your super speeds during this timed event. All super heroes will have the opportunity to be timed, however, it is not mandatory; runners/walkers are allowed to opt out of timing. Weather you are timed or not, we encourage all our participants to dress as their favorite superhero. While your superhero speed will be put to the test on the course, your super dance moves will be moving and a rocking at the super after party. Participants are encouraged to stay for the after party and get their photos taken for the newspaper headlines under the black lights!

Dreams and Wishes of TN grants wishes to kids ages 5 – 21 that have relapsed from cancer.  We also go one step further and grant wishes to young adults 18-21 that are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. We are the ONLY Wish Granting organization in the south that grants wishes to kids meeting this criteria.  Join us to help make wishes come true! Studies show that health care professionals who treat children with cancer believe that giving the child something to look forward to such as a wish or dream can improve their physical health and be a positive turning point in their battle.
