Follow on Google News | Kent State's College of Business Administration Recognizes Accounting StudentsBy: Kent State College of Business Administration Fifty-eight undergraduate accounting majors were awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships. Three College of Business Administration undergraduate accounting students were also awarded scholarships by professional accounting organizations. Junior accounting student Charlie Wilson was selected as the recipient of one of the 2015 Ohio Council Institute of Management Accountants Scholarships. Wilson was recognized at the 41st annual Meonske Conference at Kent State University on April 23. Wilson is currently interning with EY and received an offer from the firm for a full-time position beginning fall 2017. “The IMA chapter at Kent State is new to campus having only been started last fall. However, as a group we've attended local Akron IMA chapter meetings as well as attended a national conference,” Sophomore accounting student Liz Valentin and junior accounting student Paige Uphole received scholarships from the Ohio CPA Foundation. They were selected by a committee comprised of members from the Ohio Society of CPAs from a pool of more than 150 candidates. The selection was based on academic and extracurricular accomplishments and an essay.
