Rotary Club of New Smyrna Beach, Florida USA names new president

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - July 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Carlos Giraldo was named as the new president of the Rotary Club of New Smyrna Beach commencing July 1, 2015 in a ceremony held at the Smyrna Yacht Club.

Mr. Giraldo moved to New Smyrna Beach two years ago and moved his Rotary membership to New Smyrna Beach.  He has been a member of Rotary since 1984.

“I have been very fortunate in business and I attribute my personal success to the bond I formed with members of the clubs I have been associated with.  I joined Rotary in my first year as a professional immediately after finishing college” stated Giraldo.  “Rotary has been there for me at every step of the way as I grew professionally and then as a business entrepreneur” he continued.

Pam Brangaccio, City Manager and member of the club said “Carlos brings a wealth of experience as club leader.  He was president of a Rotary club in Orlando and he also has had leadership positions regionally and with Rotary International.”

Mr. Giraldo currently serves on the board of directors of the Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce and also volunteers as a business mentor in the field of marketing for S.C.O.R.E.  clients.

Other officers for the new Rotary year are Craig Bair, vice president; Pam Brangaccio, president elect; Jeff Abbot, Immediate Past President; Jerry Kruhm, secretary; and Mitch Cole, treasurer. Board members are Donnalee Wynn, Jane Hendricks and Donnie Williams.

The Rotary Club of New Smyrna Beach, founded in 1929 is an organization composed of business and community leaders that come together to discuss the community's needs.  Together, they discover creative ways to meet them while creating enduring bonds of friendship.  Most of its programs locally focus on assisting the youth by supporting youth activities and providing scholarships to graduating seniors.

The club meets every Tuesday, noon at the Smyrna Yacht Club.
