By: Otocast, LLC Otocast, available for free in iTunes and, as of April, in the Google Play store, lets visitors explore and engage with local surroundings, with audio guides provided by "voices of authority" - architects, historians and artists. The engaging narrative creates a compelling experience that allows visitors to explore and discover more about the area, and encourages longer, and more meaningful visits. Lampo Leong is a professor of art at hte University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, is an artist whose paintings from the series "Contemplation • Forces," are featured in the mobile tour of their city's public art. He said he was glad to be able to describe more fully the conceptual aspect of his paintings, which have until now been limited to a few sentences on a small plaque next to his artwork. "I think this is a wonderful tool for those interested in public art around Columbia," Leong said. "The app will really make the artwork come alive." In addition to the audio, the app offers directions, photos, social media sharing, videos and opportunities for local businesses to participate. Eric Feinstein, founder and CEO of Otocast says, "We are immensely happy that cities large and small are seeing the benefits of working with Otocast. Every town has something interesting to share, and with Otocast, they have an easy, affordable way to show it. And the geo-aware platform allows people to discover content that they might not otherwise find out about."
