2015 WOCNCB® Employer Recognition Award

MILWAUKEE - June 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Milwaukee, WI - June 29, 2015 - The Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB®) proudly welcomes Floyd Medical Center to the renowned list of Employer Recognition Award winners! This award is given annually to honor an organization that has demonstrated exemplary support of the certification process in WOC nursing. Chosen from 23 candidates, the Center, located in Rome Georgia, displays encouragement of advancement to all nurses within the organization seeking national specialty certification. The award was presented in San Antonio, TX at the Harry B. Gonzalez Convention Center as part of the WOCN® 2015 Educational Conference.

Floyd Medical is acclaimed by their nurses for its continued drive for innovation and growth. Most notably, the center has developed its own preventative foot clinic. With Nurse Practitioners at the helm, this clinic has yielded valuable data, which has been featured at various conferences. Given its success within this addition, the Center is also looking to incorporate an ostomy clinic as well for the continued benefit of area patients.

Additional support is given to each of its WOC nurses in the form of financial assistance for them to attend one WOCN educational conference per year. The employees also receive reimbursement for membership dues to the organization, sponsoring professional growth for those pursuing specialized networking opportunities.

The staff reflects multiple WOCNCB® certifications on their roster of professionals, including CWOCN’s, CWCN-AP and CFCN’s. Some of these individuals offer both their time and experienced knowledge by serving on the WOCNCB® Foot Exam, and Advance Practice Exam Committees.
