Fast Growing Startup That's Transforming The Civil And Construction Industries

30% Productivity gains achieved by replacing paper-based systems with smartphones

FRANKSTON, Australia - June 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Melbourne, VICTORIA (April 2015 – Vertical Matters), the maker of the Mobile Quality Management System (MQMS), helps Sure Constructions increase productivity by 30%.

Mark Steggall (Director, Sure Constructions) states that, “they went the extra mile to ensure that the system met our needs. Their turnaround times for new features and requests was brilliant. They know civil, they know quality and their mobile applications technology prowess is second to none.”  The key areas that the company helped address related to timesheets, project visibility, forecasting, SWMS, and workflow.

The MQMS is a business tool run off standard smartphones that replaces 90%+ of business processes traditionally completed using paper.  This  includes forms, policies, procedure, quoting and much more. The system aids job scheduling with project coordinators being able to gain instantaneous snapshots of projects using Gant charts and GPS tracking to manage assets.

Vertical Matters are a strong exponent of the benefits of cloud technology with the benefits being able to access files anywhere and at anytime, while being able to visit sites remotely using web conferencing.

Of most importance, the system has also been shown to help companies create better customer experiences through the delivery of quality.  In fact, the system was used as a cornerstone by Land Engineering to achieve ISO certification in 4 months* which allowed them to gain 4 years of forward work.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Vertical Matters journey started when Marcus van Enk (20 years experience in civil construction) jumped into his 4WD, flipped down the sun visor and got showered with paperwork and receipts.  With steam pouring out of his ears, he thought there must be a better way. Shortly after, he took a sabbatical and co-developed an application which would meet his requirements and remove paperwork from his day to day operations.

In 2011, he met Courtney Smith by chance and discussed the huge gaps in mobile based enterprise management frameworks focusing on mobile, compliance and quality.

Through 2011 and 2012 Courtney and Marcus undertook extensive research and development to determine what systems were available and how could they build a business from the emerging growth of smartphone adoption.

To that end they:

Read countless online cloud product reviews to identify where the market was heading and how the technologies were developing globally. Trialed and tested over 50 different cloud based products to identify the most important features and benefits. Consulted over 500 hours with industry stakeholders to map technology outcomes with industry needs.

Identified an exclusive partner Unyverse after scouring the globe for a fast moving, highly capable development framework, in growth phase of product development and Listened, refined, submitted and delivered on over 250+ product improvements to the product developers and continue to do so.

Fast forward to late 2012 and ‘Vertical Matters’ was born off the back of the Autolync Group, guided by director Courtney Smith. Utilising the power of our leading mobile technology frameworks we can address the cloud based technology requirements of any industry vertical or company seeking bespoke mobile developments in a rapid turnaround for low upfront cost.

Their goal is to save companies time.
