Snell & Wilmer Partner Don Gaffney Elected President of Phoenix Chapter of Federal Bar Association

PHOENIX - June 26, 2015 - PRLog -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Don Gaffney (http://www.swlaw.com/attorneys/don_gaffney), a partner in the firm’s Phoenix office, has been elected President of the Phoenix Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.

The Phoenix Chapter of the Federal Bar Association is a group of approximately 285 members in private practice, government agencies, local law schools, the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. The Chapter’s primary purpose is to serve the federal judiciary and legal community by advocating for the sound administration of justice in the federal courts. In addition to holding monthly CLE programs for local members, the chapter is involved with the Federal Bar Association at the national level. Every year, chapter leadership works with members of the U.S. Senate to advocate for the importance of filling judicial vacancies and providing adequate funding to the Federal courts.

Gaffney is Snell & Wilmer’s practice group leader in bankruptcy, reorganization and workout law. He also has significant experience in privacy law, electronic communications and commercial litigation. Gaffney was selected as the 2015 Lawyer of the Year for Bankruptcy Litigation in Phoenix by The Best Lawyers in America^® and has beenlisted as a Southwest Super Lawyer^® in the Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights practice area since 2007. Gaffney earned his J.D., with honors, from the University of Texas where he was an editor for the Texas Law Review, and his B.A. from Austin College where he was an Austin Scholar.
