FISHERS, Ind. - June 26, 2015 - PRLog -- Experienced business owners and caregivers Izabela and Stephen Sicinski are looking forward to bringing quality care to their community through their new business, Home Helpers/Direct Link Fishers.

Home Helpers is the nation’s leading franchiser specializing in comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance. Direct Link is its proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including a fall sensor, automated medication dispenser and vital signs monitoring units.

Home Helpers/Direct Link Fishers offers free in-home consultations and works with each client to create a flexible, affordable care plan based on a person’s individual needs. Services offered include companionship, laundry, light housekeeping, respite care, meal preparation and transportation as well as medication management and care management. This new, locally-owned and operated business serves Fishers, Carmel, and Geist, as well as the surrounding areas.

“When we decided to go into home care, Home Helpers was the perfect fit. Having our own franchise with the support and resources of the corporate team makes us the perfect size to be able to care for all your needs while being small enough to offer the personal service you want. We looked at a couple of franchise options and felt that Home Helpers, with their honesty and enthusiasm, was the best choice for us and for this our community,” Stephen said.

Izabela grew up the rural outskirts of Krakow in Southeastern Poland where her upbringing under a Communist government contributed to her love of America and the appreciation of free-market capitalism. Before moving to the states, she earned a Master’s degree in Economics with a minor in Ergonomics from the prestigious Skladowska University – without computers or calculators to help. In fact, she took two computer classes where they learned about computers by studying photos of computers!

“Medical care in Poland is apparently improving, but when I lived there, it was a Communist system and long lines for care were a way of life. Both of my parents died of cancer. Tragically, the hospitals in Poland had no inventory of drugs, including pain medication. The inefficiency of central planning combined with theft often meant none for patients. Because of the conditions, people often didn’t even bother to go to the hospital and, instead, cared for each other at home. It’s that experience, and my 17 years working in a group home for physically and mentally handicapped adults here in USA that inspired my husband Stephen and me to open this Home Helpers/Direct Link franchise,” Izabela said.

Stephen, who has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University, has over 30 years of experience in manufacturing management. When Stephen was laid off back in 2000, he took a minimum wage job grinding parts to pay the mortgage until he and Izabela were able to open a delivery business. After four years of working seven days a week, Stephen and Izabela were finally able to hire their first employee and were able to cut down to only six days per week.  After a total of eleven years of the trials of competing with the US Postal Service, the intrepid couple has built a solid foothold in the community. When they decided to expand their business ventures, Home Helpers and Direct Link seemed like a great fit.

“After careful consideration, we decided to enter the in-home assistance field and open Home Helpers/Direct Link Fishers. Our calling and our mission is to offer and deliver the highest quality in-home care and assistance to our clients. We know that providing such services takes hard work. We realize it’s not an easy path to take, but we are dedicated to this mission and to meeting this challenge,” Stephen said. “When you call Home Helpers/Direct Link Fishers, your call will be answered by an owner- not a receptionist or an automated system. That is important to us and we pledge that it will be so.”

“We also value competition and know that it makes us better at whatever we do – to the benefit of the customer. The integrity and dedication of the care provider is what will win the confidence of clients- and we are happy to be an 'open book' to all. When you get to know the owners and caregivers of Home Helpers/Direct Link Fishers, what you see is what you'll get – honesty, competence and humility,” Izabela added.

With Home Helpers/Direct Link Fishers, each individual client receives services tailored to meet their specific needs by caregivers who become an extension of their family. Home Helpers’ full-range of home care services empower clients to live healthier and more rewarding lives in the privacy, safety, and comfort of their own homes.

When they’re not working – or when they are on deliveries – Izabela and Stephen often spend time helping older folks- moving things, taking mail to the door, or simply chatting with the wonderful people that they have been privileged to get to know. They are also involved with the local Toastmasters Club.
