ATLANTA - June 26, 2015 - PRLog -- The Dwell with Dignity Foundation, together with Nandina Home & Design of Atlanta have turned a house into a soothing, inspiring home for a family of five.  Living situations for families is a top-priority of the foundation so with the help of Buckhead Christian Ministries, this family was chosen to receive a completely new home interior environment. The renovated and redecorated home will be revealed to this family, at 12:00 p.m., Friday, June 26.

Nandina’s team, together with Dwell with Dignity and a host of generous donors, worked to create a space that will provide its residents a safe-haven which allows them to rest, grow, and dream. The selected family’s number one concern was storage, so the designers worked hard to find innovative storage solutions. The furniture and all the accessories for this project were courtesy of Currey & Company, AmericasMart (a wholesale trade center), Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC), and more, as well as by Nandina’s Inman Park Home Decor Store.

Nandina Designer Chanel Katic said that above all, they needed to ensure that the space functioned properly for the growing family. They got really creative and were able to come up with a lot of space-saving storage solutions.

The importance of children being brought up in a safe environment is so crucial it can easily determine their future. As the project’s lead designer John Ishmael said, “my aim is to create a calm, peaceful space where this family can learn, play, and grow together.”

The fabrics for items such as pillows, fabrics, and bed skirts were up-cycled remnants leftover from other Nandina projects. All of these items were hand-made in the Nandina work room. Additionally, there was a team of volunteer DIY-ers who worked hard to refinish and paint donated furniture such as chairs, dressers, and desks.

“All of this wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our entire team. In the end, I know we will create a space that the whole family will be proud of” said Chanel Katic.

Dwell with Dignity is an organization that reflects Nandina’s values and they wanted to be a part of of this noble initiative. They knew that it was the right way to put their values into action. They want to help the less fortunate dwell with dignity.
