Tech Startup Shoto Collaborates with United Nations Foundation to Commemorate 70th Anniversary

SAN FRANCISCO - June 26, 2015 - PRLog -- San Francisco-based startup Shoto today announced a collaboration with the United Nations Foundation that makes photos from its commemorations of the 70th anniversary of the United Nations Charter signing available around the world. June 26 marks exactly 70 years since the UN charter was signed in San Francisco.

Shoto is a new mobile experience for exchanging, organizing, and discovering photos from the moments people have shared together. Shoto aggregates all the photos you and your friends took together, allowing you to request the ones you may have missed and share them easily among friends.

The photos from the UN Charter anniversary will be published with artful layouts including titles, maps, and comments. Android and iOS mobile device users attending the celebration will be able to use Shoto to create a global photo collection celebrating the charter signing. Those who are unable to attend can view the photos on the newly designed web experience and like or comment on the photos.

The 70th anniversary marks the launch of Shoto Events, which offers a new way for event organizers like the United Nations Foundation to bring photos and social media content into one place. Organizers can generate a custom event code (in this case 062615) and Shoto ensures anyone who submits photos was actually present. The web experience not only displays photos submitted on Shoto, but also aggregates them with Twitter and Instagram feeds using the hashtags #UNdiscovered, #UN, and #UN70.
