ROCHESTER, Mich. - June 25, 2015 - PRLog -- Tickets are available for the 2015-2016 Macomb Town Hall Luncheon/Lecture Series, which benefits an endowed scholarship for Oakland University students.

This season begins with a presentation by The Lennon Sisters on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015. The Lennon Sisters, who first appeared on the Lawrence Welk Show in 1955, recently celebrated 60 years of blending distinctive harmonies in concerts across the United States – including 20 consecutive years of performances in Branson, Mo. Today, the Lennon Sisters, consisting of Kathy, Janet and Mimi (Dee Dee and Peggy have retired), are still considered America’s Sweethearts of Song.

Also scheduled to perform, on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, is DoubleDate (http://www.doubledatequartet.com/), a musical singing group that performs popular hits from the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s. Rounding out the luncheon/lecture series on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 is historian Anna Lopez. She will present "Eleanor Roosevelt Observed through the Eyes of Today's Tabloids," a historical account of one of America's favorite First Ladies.

Proceeds from the series benefit the Gladys McLean/Macomb Town Hall Endowed Scholarship at Oakland University. For the past 50 years, the Macomb Town Hall series has generated scholarship support for deserving Macomb County students, who now make up nearly one-third of the OU student body.

Macomb Town Hall President, Cheri Daniels said, “This year’s luncheon/lecture series promises so much fun and nostalgia, from the famous Lennon Sisters to DoubleDate to Anna Lopez’s historical account of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. We hope everyone will share in this wonderful series and bring along their family and friends.”

The luncheon/lecture series takes place at the Andiamo Banquet Center, located on 7096 East 14 Mile Road in Warren. Ticket holders may arrive at 10:15 a.m. for the luncheon/lectures, which begin at 11 a.m. Tickets cost $120 for all three luncheon/lectures and must be purchased in advance.
