LITCHFIELD, Conn. - June 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Enjoy online learning and engaging discussion at the Oliver Wolcott Library with the Monday Scholars! Monday Scholars combines the best of online learning with face-to-face classroom discussion!

This session’s course will be The Kennedy Half Century and will be taught by Larry J. Sabato who is the founder and director of the renowned Center for Politics at the University of Virginia. OWL’s Book Club Liaison, Cameron Bove, will facilitate a group discussion. Participants only need to come ready to engage their minds and participate in discussion.

When John F. Kennedy entered the presidential limousine at Love Field in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963, he began his ride into history. That journey continues even today and we call it the Kennedy legacy. This course will explore the Presidency, assassination, and lasting legacy of President John F. Kennedy. We will learn how JFK’s life, administration, and tragic death have influenced the general public, the media, and each of the nine U.S. presidents who followed.

Larry J. Sabato is a University Professor of Politics at the University of Virginia and has had visiting appointments at Oxford University and Cambridge University in Great Britain. A Rhodes Scholar, he received his doctorate from Oxford, and is the author or editor of two dozen books on American politics, including the New York Times bestseller, The Kennedy Half Century. In 2014 he won an Emmy for the television documentary “The Kennedy Half Century,” based on his research in the book.
